How to Cook Rice in a Regular Pot

Essential Ingredients and Tools

  • Northern rice
  • Water
  • Thick-bottomed pot with a tight-fitting lid (prevents excessive steam leakage during cooking)

Measurements

  • Rice: 100ml-200ml per person
  • Water: 2 times the volume of the rice

Instructions

  • Rinse the rice
  • Add rice and water to the pot
  • Bring to a boil over high heat
  • Stir the bottom to prevent sticking
  • Cover the pot, reduce heat to low, and cook for 10-15 minutes (depending on your preference for softness). Do not open the lid during this time.
  • Turn off the heat and let it sit for 5 minutes
  • Enjoy :)
